Items and Services
Items and Services holds every product and service your business handles, and every movement of stock in and out. It sits underneath Sales and Purchases — both modules read their item records, prices and quantities from here, which makes it the module that decides whether the rest tell the truth.
What stock is made of

| Item or Service | The master record — code, category, tax, units and posting accounts. |
| Category | Groups items and carries the default accounts they inherit. |
| Kit | Several items sold as one bundle. |
| Virtual Item | One item under a second name or code. |
How stock moves
Most movement comes from Sales and Purchases. What this module adds is everything else.
| Movement | Use | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Adjustment | Correcting a count, recording stock found, opening balances. | Inventory against the adjustment account. |
| Disposal | Stock damaged, expired, stolen or obsolete. | Loss to the write-off account. |
| Transfer | Moving stock between your own locations. | No profit or loss — value relocates. |
| Reconcile | Bringing the system into line after a physical count. | Raises the adjustments needed. |
Adjustment and disposal are not interchangeable. An adjustment says the count was wrong; a disposal says the goods are gone. They post to different accounts and read very differently to anyone reviewing your books.
