View Leave Approval
The Leave Request View is the full record of one leave request — who asked, for what period, against which entitlement, and what was decided. It is the evidence behind an approval and the reference when pay is questioned.
Where to find it
Open a request from Employee Leaves Inquiry, or from the leave tab on an employee record.
Request details
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Employee | Who requested the leave. |
| Leave Type | Which entitlement it draws on. |
| From / To | The period requested. |
| Days | How many days it consumes. |
| Balance | Entitlement remaining — the figure checked before approving. |
| Reason | Why the leave was requested. |
Approval record
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Pending, approved or declined. |
| Approved By | Who decided. |
| Decision Date | When the decision was made. |
| Comments | Any note attached to the decision. |
The decision record is what settles a dispute later. An employee who believes leave was approved and a manager who believes it was not are both arguing from memory unless the status, approver and date are here.
Effect on pay
Approved paid leave counts as time worked. Absence without approval becomes loss of pay through attendance, so the two records need to agree for the month to be paid correctly.
