ZATCA Settings
ZATCA Settings is the last step of the setup wizard and the page you return to afterwards. Four choices decide how the ERP behaves: which ZATCA environment you are talking to, how strictly documents are validated, which invoice types you issue, and whether submission is automatic or manual.
Environment
| Environment | Use for |
|---|---|
| Sandbox (Testing) | Development and first experiments. Nothing is real. |
| Simulation | Rehearsing the real flow before going live. |
| Production | Live. Real invoices, real clearance and reporting. |
On a production instance the Sandbox option is not offered. There is no legitimate reason to point a live company's invoices at a test gateway, and offering it only creates the opportunity to do so by accident.
The environment decides which gateway everything goes to, including the production CSID request. Requesting a "Production CSID" while in sandbox or simulation gives you a test credential, not a live one — the wizard says so, in those environments.
ZATCA Validation Mode
How strictly documents are checked before they are sent. Stricter settings catch problems in your own system rather than as a rejection from ZATCA, which is generally where you want to find them.
Invoice Types Issued
| Option | Means |
|---|---|
| Standard only (B2B) | You invoice businesses only. |
| Standard + Simplified (B2B & B2C) | You invoice businesses and consumers. |
This has to match reality. It is part of what the certificate is issued for, so a company that sells to consumers but is registered for standard invoices only will find its B2C invoices failing.
Generation
| Option | Means |
|---|---|
| Automatic (On Invoice Creation) | The e-invoice is produced and submitted as the invoice is raised. |
| Manual (Button Click) | Somebody generates and submits from the sales list or the invoice. |
Automatic is normal in live running. Standard invoices must be cleared before they reach the customer, and a manual step between raising an invoice and being allowed to send it is a step that will be forgotten.
QR codes
| Option | Means |
|---|---|
| Enabled (show on invoices & customers) | The QR code is printed. Required for simplified invoices. |
| Disabled (hidden from users) | Not shown. |
Certificates and secrets
The page holds your Compliance Certificate, Production CSID and ZATCA API Secret from onboarding, with the compliance status and when it was last checked. The certificate, its secret and its request id are kept together — they are only meaningful as a set, and a partial state is what strands an onboarding.
Starting again
Clear Configuration resets everything including the request ids. Use it when an onboarding has gone wrong and you want a genuinely clean attempt rather than one carrying half the previous state.
