Counter

Counter

Counter is the sales pad for tagged goods. Pieces placed on a counter reader appear here, ready to be invoiced — useful where each item is unique and expensive enough to be tagged individually, such as jewellery.

Where to find it

Go to EdgeBridge > Counter.

What the pad shows

ColumnDescription
Tag (EPC)The tag on the counter.
PieceThe item it is mapped to.
On the counter sinceWhen it was first read.
ReadsHow many times it has been seen.

Taking a piece off

Put back removes a piece from the pad, and Clear the counter empties it. The screen states the consequence plainly: nothing is sold and no tag is freed — the pad is a staging area, not a transaction.

The sale happens on the invoice, not on the pad. Clearing the counter after a customer leaves without buying is correct and costs nothing; clearing it after a sale does not undo the sale.

From counter to invoice

  1. The customer's pieces are placed on the counter reader.
  2. They appear on the pad.
  3. The invoice is raised from them.
  4. The invoice frees the tags, so they can be reused — see Item Tags.

Not commissioned

A piece shown as not commissioned has been read but is not ready to sell. Check its mapping before trying to invoice it.
