e-Invoice API Credit
Every call the ERP makes to the e-Invoice and e-Way Bill portal is paid for out of credit. Credit is counted in calls, held per company and per service, and topped up either by a pack that includes it or by buying more. This page explains what is charged, what is not, and what happens when credit runs out.
How credit works
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Counted in calls | Not in rupees or invoices — one API call is one unit. |
| Per company | Each company has its own balance. |
| Per service | e-Invoice and e-Way Bill are separate. |
What is charged and what is not
| Call | Charged |
|---|---|
| Registering an invoice successfully | Yes. |
| Generating an e-way bill | Yes. |
| A failed call | No. You are not charged for something that did not work. |
| A read-only lookup | No. |
Where credit comes from
| Source | Detail |
|---|---|
| Included in a pack | A subscription pack can include e-Invoice credit. It is delivered when the pack is assigned, scaled to the number of months. |
| Bought separately | Topped up as needed. |
Pack credit is delivered once per pack and subscription, so reassigning or renewing does not double-grant it.
There is no free trial
Calls are paid from credit only. There are no free trial calls, so a company that has not been given credit cannot register an invoice — which is worth knowing before a go-live date rather than on one.
Where it is not gated
The house or reseller company's own calls are never gated. Credit exists to account for what customers use, not to stop the platform working.
Where to see it
Credit and usage are shown in the e-Invoice settings, and resellers have their own view of what their companies have used. Usage is rolled up so a reseller can see consumption across their book rather than company by company.
Check the balance before a month end or a large bulk registration. Running out part way through a bulk run leaves some invoices registered and some not, and sorting out which is which afterwards costs more time than topping up would have.
e-Invoice credit is offered only where it applies
The credit option appears only for companies that actually have e-Invoice or e-Way Bill switched on. A company with neither is not offered something it cannot use.
