Leads from other CRM

Leads from other CRM

The Leads import brings prospect data across from another CRM. Leads are people you have not yet converted into customers, so this import is independent of the accounting data and can be run at any point.

Where to find it

Go to Setup > Import Export > Leads.

Format Data

Export your leads from the existing CRM, download the sample file here, and rearrange your columns to match it. Contact details, source and status are the fields worth mapping carefully — they are what your team filters on afterwards.

Field groupWhy it matters
Name and contactThe minimum needed for a lead to be actionable.
SourceWhere the lead came from. This is what campaign reporting groups by.
StatusWhere the lead sits in your pipeline, so it lands in the right stage rather than all at the start.
Assigned userWho owns the lead. Must match an existing user.
Import leads before opportunities. An opportunity attaches to a party, so the lead or customer needs to exist first.

Errors and exports

If rows fail, the system returns your file with a Memo column added, naming the problem on each bad row — fix those rows and upload again. Every module supports export as well as import, so you can pull current data out in the same format.

The rules common to all imports — never rename headers, dates in Y/m/d, codes must already exist, test a few rows first — are set out in Importing Your Data.
