Google Business Settings
Settings connect the ERP to your Google Business Profile account and decide what it does on its own. There are four tabs: a setup guide, the connection itself, the Google credentials behind it, and automation.
Setup guide
The steps in order, for a first connection. Work through it rather than going straight to the connection tab — the credentials have to exist at Google before anything here can use them.
Google credentials
The credentials the ERP signs in to Google with. They come from a Google project you control, so the connection belongs to your business rather than to anyone else.
Connection
Signing in to Google and authorising the ERP. Once connected the tab shows Connected as with the account, and the Account the listings belong to.
| Message | Means |
|---|---|
| Not connected to Google | Nothing is authorised yet. |
| Google refused the sign-in | Google rejected the attempt, with its reason. |
| Google would not issue a token | The sign-in worked but authorisation did not, with the reason. |
Both errors quote what Google actually said, which is usually a permission on the Google side rather than anything in the ERP.
Automation
What the app does without being asked — reading reviews and performance figures on a schedule, so the inbox is current when somebody opens it rather than only after they press fetch.
Switch review fetching on. The value of a review inbox is that somebody sees a complaint the day it is written; an inbox that only updates when a person remembers to refresh it will miss the ones that matter.
Permission
All of this needs Connect / settings, which is separate from every other area of the app. The connection carries the authority to publish under your business's name, and it should not sit with everyone who needs to read a review.
