Shorts
Shorts are brief posts for your public website — a tip, a feature note, a deadline reminder. They sit alongside blog articles but are meant to be written in minutes rather than drafted, which is what makes it realistic to publish something every week.
Where to find it
Go to Company > Shorts, or the Shorts tab under Pages.
Shorts or blog posts
| Short | Blog post | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | A few lines. | A full article. |
| Purpose | A single tip or notice. | Answers a question in depth. |
| Search value | Keeps the site fresh. | Ranks for a search term. |
| Effort | Minutes. | An hour or more. |
Writing one
- Add a short from the Shorts tab.
- Assign a category so it groups with related content.
- Write it and publish.
One idea per short. The moment it needs a second paragraph to explain the first, it is a blog post — and it will do better as one.
What works as a short
- A filing deadline coming up in your country.
- One keyboard shortcut or setting that saves time.
- A new feature in a release, in a sentence.
- An answer to a question you have now been asked three times.
