Loans

Loans is the register of every loan you have issued — capital, rate, dues, what has been collected and what is still outstanding. It is also where a loan is closed early, restructured, or has guarantors and documents managed against it.

Where to find it

Go to Customer Loan > Loans.

What the list shows

ColumnDescription
Loan #The loan reference.
CustomerThe borrower.
Loan Created DateWhen it was issued.
Initial CapitalThe amount lent.
Capital BalancePrincipal still owed.
Interest RateThe annual rate applied.
Dues / Dues PendingHow many instalments, and how many remain.
Next DueWhen the next payment falls.
Days OverdueHow late the loan is, if at all.
StatusActive, closed, pre-closed or restructured.

Guarantors

Manage Guarantors records who stands behind the loan — name, relationship, ID type and number, contact details and the amount guaranteed. A guarantor name is required to add one.

Documents

Manage Documents holds the paperwork attached to a loan. Types marked mandatory in Document Types must be present, and the screen reports Missing mandatory documents when they are not.

Closing a loan early

ActionWhat it does
Process Pre-closureSettles the loan ahead of term. A pre-closure charge applies as a percentage of the outstanding balance.
Process RestructureCloses the loan and creates a replacement on new terms. Both records note the link.
Restructuring is not the same as extending. It closes the original loan and opens a new one, so the arrears history stays on the old record — which is exactly what you want when assessing the borrower next time.
