Customer Branches List
The Branches list is a centralized management hub where you can view, edit, and monitor all delivery locations and sub-entities linked to your customers. This screen provides a high-level overview of localized operational data, allowing you to manage complex logistics from a single interface.
You can access this screen by navigating to the Customer Module > Branches Tab. From here, you can quickly identify which branches are active, their primary contact details, and their associated sales territories.
Field Definitions for the Branch List
The list view displays key information for each branch to facilitate quick decision-making:
- Branch Name: The specific name of the location or department (e.g., Chennai Branch, North Warehouse).
- Contact Person: The primary individual responsible for operations or communication at that specific branch.
- Sales Area: The assigned territory (e.g., Local, Global, or specific regions like Tamil Nadu) used for filtered reporting and regional sales tracking.
- Phone Number: The direct contact line for the branch office to facilitate quick follow-ups.
- E-mail: The dedicated email address for sending branch-specific documents like delivery notes and invoices.
- Tax Group: Displays the specific tax rule (e.g., GST, IGST, or Exempt) applied to transactions for this location.
- Actions:
- Edit (Orange Button): Click this to modify branch details, update contact info, or change GL account mappings.
- Delete (Red X): Use this to remove a branch from the system. Note: A branch cannot be deleted if it is already linked to existing transactions.
Managing Your Branches
To keep your database organized and efficient, utilize the following features on this page:
- Search & Filter: Use the search bar at the top to find specific branches by name, customer, or contact person instantly.
- + Add New: Use the blue button at the top right to open the New Branch form and manually add a single location.
- Import: Click the Import option (top right) to perform a bulk migration of branch data from your previous ERP or Excel sheet.
- Navigation: Use the Next/Previous buttons at the bottom right to scroll through multiple pages if you have a large number of branch records.
Note: Changes made to a branch—such as updating a Default Inventory Location—will immediately reflect in all future sales orders and invoices created for that specific branch.
