Payment Status

StatusMeaning
UnallocatedNo part of the payment has been linked to an invoice.
Partially AllocatedPart of the payment has been linked; a balance remains.
AllocatedThe payment has been fully applied to outstanding invoices.
Unallocated money is the thing to watch here. The cash is in your bank, but the customer's invoices still show as outstanding until the payment is allocated — which can make a paying customer look like a debtor and even trigger a credit block.
