Customer Estimates List
The Estimations tab acts as a preliminary sales dashboard, tracking all initial cost projections and informal quotes provided to a customer. Estimations are typically the earliest stage of a sales conversation, allowing you to provide pricing and scope without creating a formal financial commitment. Keeping these within the customer profile ensures a seamless transition from a "lead" conversation to a confirmed "sales" transaction.
You can access this overview by navigating to Customer Module > Estimations Tab within the customer detailed view. This list is vital for sales teams to track active negotiations and historical pricing discussions for every client.
Field Definitions for the Estimations List
The estimation grid provides a high-level summary of each projection:
- Estimation Reference: The unique identification code for the estimation (e.g., EST-2026-001). You can click this reference to view the detailed breakdown of items and services quoted.
- Customer: The parent customer record to which this estimation is linked.
- Branch: The specific customer location or department for which the estimate was prepared.
- Estimation Date: The date the estimate was created and shared with the client.
- Valid Until: The deadline for the quoted prices. This helps your team follow up before the estimate expires.
- Currency: The transaction currency used for the estimation values (e.g., INR, USD).
- Total Amount: The projected total value of the items and taxes listed in the estimate.
- Status: The current state of the estimation (e.g., Pending, Approved, or Expired).
- Actions:
- View/Edit (Orange Button): Click this to open the estimation form to update quantities, prices, or terms.
- Delete (Red X): Remove an estimation from the list. Note: Usually, estimations can only be deleted if they haven't been converted into a formal Proposal or Order.
Note: An Estimation is often the first step in the sales cycle. Once the customer agrees to the rough pricing, you can easily convert the Estimation into a Proposal or Sales Order to maintain data continuity.
