Supplier Quality and Approval
The Suppliers tab scores your suppliers and job workers on what their goods actually did at inspection, and holds their approval status. It answers the question a purchase decision needs and a price list cannot: of everything this supplier sent us in the period, how much passed, how much failed, and how many non-conformances did it cost us.
The scorecard
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Supplier / Job Worker | Who is being scored. Job workers appear alongside suppliers because the same question applies to both. |
| Inspections | How many inspections their documents produced in the period. |
| Inspected Qty | The quantity actually looked at. |
| Failed / Held | How many of those inspections failed or went on hold. |
| Failed Qty / Rejected Qty | The quantity that failed, and the quantity rejected by a usage decision. |
| NCRs | Non-conformance reports against them, with how many are still open. |
| Score | The combined figure, for ranking one supplier against another. |
| Last Inspected | When their goods were last checked. |
| Status / Next Review | Their approval standing and when it is due to be looked at again. |
A supplier with no purchase or job work inspections in the period is not scored — the tab says so rather than showing a zero that would read as a bad result.
Supplier approval
Review on a row opens the approval record: the status, the review date and a note. The row then shows who reviewed it and when, so an auditor can see the judgement and its date rather than a status with no provenance.
Approval status is a record, not an enforcement — the ERP does not stop you buying from a supplier whose status has lapsed. It makes the standing visible where the buying decision is discussed.
Filters
Filter to All Suppliers or to one, and set the date range with the shared period filter. Changing the period changes every figure on the row except the approval status, which is a standing fact rather than a period one.
Printing it
The Supplier Quality report prints the same analysis for a period, with the defect breakdown behind each supplier's failures. See Quality reports. Both the tab and the report are guarded by Quality Reports permission.
