Work Centres
Work Centres are the places on your shop floor where operations happen — cutting, assembly, finishing, packing. Every component on a bill of materials is assigned to one, which is how the system knows where each part of a job is carried out.
Where to find it
Go to Manufacturing > Settings > Work Centers.
Features
| Element | Description |

| Name | The work centre's identifier, and what appears on BOM lines. |
| Description | Its purpose, or the operations carried out there. |
| Edit | The pencil icon — change the name or description. |
| Delete | The red X. Irreversible, so use it with care. |
| Add New | Opens a form for a new work centre. |
| Show also Inactive | Includes retired work centres in the list. |
Usage
Adding a new work centre
- Click Add new.
- Fill in the Name and Description.
- Click Save.
Editing an existing work centre
- Click the pencil icon beside it.
- Change the fields you need.
- Click Save.
Deleting a work centre
- Click the red X beside it.
- Confirm when prompted.
Viewing inactive work centres
Tick Show also Inactive to include ones no longer in use.
Deactivate rather than delete a work centre that has history behind it. Deleting removes it from the list while past BOM lines still refer to it; marking it inactive hides it from new work without disturbing what has already been recorded.
How to name them
Name work centres after the operation rather than the room — "Cutting" and "Finishing" stay meaningful when the floor is rearranged, "Bay 3" does not.
