Foreign Item codes

The Virtual Item List is used to manage alias records for existing stock items. Virtual items allow you to sell the same physical product under different names or unique item codes to meet specific customer requirements or branding needs. When a virtual item is sold, the system automatically deducts the stock from the linked parent item. To access this list, navigate to Inventory > Click the "Virtual Item" Tab.

Add New Virtual Item
On the right side of the dashboard, the + Add New button allows you to create a new alias. During setup, you will link the virtual name and code to an existing parent item and define any specific unit conversions if the virtual item is sold in different quantities than the original.

Virtual Item Table
This table displays the mapping between your virtual aliases and their primary stock counterparts.
  • Item Code: The unique identification code assigned to the virtual alias (e.g., 1234).
  • Description: The specific name used for sales transactions (e.g., Sample Tax). Clicking the blue link opens the configuration details.
  • Item Unit: The unit of measure assigned to the virtual item (e.g., Cum).
  • Category: The classification group the item belongs to for reporting and organization.
  • Parent: The original stock item that this virtual item is linked to. This is the item from which physical stock will be deducted.
  • Quantity: The ratio or amount of the parent item that corresponds to one unit of the virtual item (e.g., 1).
  • Unit: The unit of measure for the parent item (e.g., Each).

Action Buttons
Manage your virtual item entries using these controls:
  • Edit (Pencil Icon): Modify the virtual item's name, code, or its relationship/ratio to the parent item.
  • Delete (Trash Icon): Remove the virtual alias from the system. This does not affect the physical stock of the parent item.
