SMS Gateway
SMS Gateway connects BurialPro to the service that sends text messages to members. Arrears reminders, receipts and claim updates all go out through it, so a society without a working gateway is back to phoning people.
Where to find it
Go to BurialPro > Settings > SMS Gateway.
Field reference
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Whether messaging is on. Off stops everything, including reminders. |
| Gateway | Which provider you use. |
| Gateway URL | The endpoint messages are posted to. |
| API Key / Token | Your credentials with the provider. |
| POST body / extra params | Any additional fields your provider requires. |
| Check Balance | Queries your remaining credit with the provider. |
Testing
Send a test message to a phone number before relying on the gateway. A number must be entered for the test to run, and a failed send is reported as post failed rather than silently dropped.
Check the balance on a schedule, not when messages stop. A gateway out of credit fails quietly — members simply do not get their arrears reminder, and the first sign is a collection month that came in low.
