Departments
Departments organise your workforce. They filter payroll and attendance, carry their own attendance rules, and are how reporting groups staff — which makes them one of the first things to set up.
Where to find it
Go to HRM > Settings > Departments > Add New.

What departments drive
- Filtering on payroll, so a run can cover one department at a time.
- Attendance rules, which are defined per department.
- Reporting — the HRM Overview breaks headcount down by department.
A department with staff assigned cannot be deleted. Deactivate it instead, which keeps the history of everyone who worked in it intact.
