Import Opportunities
The Opportunities import brings your sales pipeline across from another system. Each opportunity connects to a customer, so the parties it references must already exist before the file will load.
Where to find it
Go to Setup > Import Export > CRM Opportunities.
Format Data
Download the sample file and map your export onto it. The connection to the customer is the column that matters most — it is what links the opportunity to a party in the system, and rows that cannot be matched are rejected.
| Field group | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Customer link | Connects the opportunity to a party. Rows that cannot be matched are rejected. |
| Value | The expected amount, which is what pipeline totals are built from. |
| Stage | Where the opportunity sits, so your pipeline reflects reality on day one. |
| Expected close date | Drives forecasting. In Y/m/d format. |
| Assigned user | Who owns it. Must match an existing user. |
Run customers and leads first. An opportunity with no matching party has nothing to attach to.
Errors and exports
If rows fail, the system returns your file with a Memo column added, naming the problem on each bad row — fix those rows and upload again. Every module supports export as well as import, so you can pull current data out in the same format.
The rules common to all imports — never rename headers, dates in Y/m/d, codes must already exist, test a few rows first — are set out in Importing Your Data.
