Customers Projects List
The Projects tab is a specialized tracking view designed for businesses that manage long-term engagements, service contracts, or multi-phase assignments for a specific client. By linking projects directly to a customer, you can consolidate all related tasks, costs, and timelines under one master record, ensuring that project managers and sales teams stay aligned on progress and delivery.
You can access this overview by navigating to Customer Module > Projects Tab within the customer detailed view. This list allows you to monitor multiple active projects simultaneously and ensure they are moving toward completion within the agreed scope.
Field Definitions for the Projects List
The projects grid provides essential metadata to help you track project health and accountability:
- Project Name: The descriptive title of the project (e.g., "Software Implementation Phase 1" or "Annual Maintenance Contract 2026").
- Customer: Confirms the client associated with the project, ensuring the work is billed and reported to the correct entity.
- Project Status: Indicates the current stage of the project lifecycle (e.g., Active, On Hold, Completed, or Planning).
- Start Date: The official date the project was initiated or work commenced.
- End Date: The scheduled or actual completion date for the project.
- Actions:
- Edit (Orange Button): Click this to modify the project timeline, update the status, or change project details.
- Delete (Red X): Remove a project record from the list. Note: Projects with linked transactions or tasks may be restricted from deletion to protect data integrity.
Note: Linking tasks and files to a specific Project (rather than just the Customer) provides a deeper level of organization, making it easier to track the specific profitability and effort for individual assignments.
