The Financial Overview puts the whole picture on one screen — revenue and expenses year to date, the balance sheet as of today, and the ratios that say whether the shape of the business is healthy. It is the page to open before anyone asks how the year is going.
Where to find it
Go to Financial Statement > Overview. It is the first tab in the module.
Income Statement (YTD)
| Figure | Meaning |

| Revenue | Income recognised so far this fiscal year. |
| Cost of Goods Sold | Direct costs of what was sold. |
| Gross Profit | Revenue less COGS. |
| Expenses | Operating costs year to date. |
| Retained Earnings (YTD) | What is left after everything — the net result so far. |
Balance Sheet (As of Today)
| Figure | Meaning |

| Total Assets | Everything the business owns. |
| Total Liabilities | Everything it owes. |
| Recorded Equity | Equity as posted in the ledger. |
| Implied Equity (A − L) | Assets less liabilities. It should match recorded equity. |
| A = L + E balanced | Confirmation the accounting equation holds. |
Watch the two equity figures. Recorded equity and implied equity should agree — a gap between them means something has posted outside the normal double entry, and it will keep growing until it is found.
Key Ratios
| Ratio | What it tells you |

| Gross Margin | Gross profit as a share of revenue — whether your pricing covers what things cost. |
| Expense Ratio | Expenses against revenue — how much of each sale is consumed by running the business. |
| D/E Ratio | Liabilities against equity — how much of the business is funded by debt. |
| Net margin | What actually remains from each unit of revenue. |
Revenue vs Expenses
The two plotted together over the last 6 or 12 months, or a fiscal year. The gap between the lines is your profit, and the trend in that gap matters more than any single month.
