Hindrance Reasons
Hindrance Reasons name the causes of delay on a site — no access, drawings awaited, materials not delivered, weather, a client decision outstanding. Recording them consistently is what turns a late contract into a documented case rather than an argument.
Where to find it

Field reference
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Hindrance Reason | The cause of delay, as it would be stated to the client. |
Distinguish hindrances that are the client's responsibility from your own. Extension of time and delay claims rest entirely on that distinction, and a reason list that blurs it leaves you unable to prove which delays you should not be penalised for.
Suggested reasons to define
- Site not handed over, or access refused.
- Drawings or approvals awaited from the client.
- Client-supplied material not delivered.
- Weather.
- Labour or contractor unavailability.
Managing the list

| Edit | Renames it. Keep the wording contractual. |
