Inventory Disposal List

Inventory Disposal List

The Disposals List records stock written off — damaged, expired, stolen or obsolete. Each entry removes quantity and books the loss, so your inventory value reflects only goods you can actually sell.

Where to find it

Go to Inventory > Disposals.

This list stays available even where disposals are switched off — that is, where Inventory Disposal/Write-Off Account is unset in System and GL Setup. You can read history, but the + Add New Disposal button will not be there.

EditChange the disposal, where it has not been processed.
PrintGenerate a copy, often needed as a disposal record.
VoidReverse it, putting the stock back.
Disposals are the write-offs your accountant will ask about, because value left the business with nothing received in return. Keep the memo and attachment on each one meaningful.
