Sales & Purchase Kits

Sales & Purchase Kit Management in ERP

Overview

A Sales Kit is a bundled collection of items that can be sold together as a single unit, though they may also be sold individually. This feature is commonly used in supermarkets, shopping malls, and provisional stores to package multiple items together, sometimes including slow-moving goods, into attractive offers or combo packs for customers.

The ERP system supports the creation and management of Sales Kits exclusively within the sales module, allowing users to seamlessly integrate and sell these bundles.

Creating a Sales & Purchase Kit

To create a Sales Kit, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Sales Module: Access the Sales section of the ERP system.
  2. Create a New Item Code: Define a unique item code for the Sales Kit and assign it a descriptive name.
  3. Select a Category: Choose the appropriate category under which this Sales Kit will be listed.
  4. Add Component Items:
    • Select the items to be included in the kit.
    • Specify the quantity for each item.
    • Example: Create a pack with 3 items, where two items have a quantity of 2 and one item has a quantity of 1.

Adding and Editing Kit

  • Add New Kit: Use the "Add New" button to create a new New Kit.
  • Edit Kit: Modify existing Kits as needed. Adjust the items or quantities based on your preferences.

Display Options in Invoices

You can choose how Sales Kits appear in invoices:

  • Show Detailed Components: Display individual items within the kit on transaction pages and invoices. This option provides transparency to customers regarding the contents of the kit.
  • Show Kit/Virtual Name: Enable the Setup -> Preferences -> Show Sales Kit/virtual Code option to display the Sales Kit as a single unit under its virtual name in transaction screens and invoices.

Kits in Transactions

Using Kits in Sales

Sales Kits offer flexibility in sales transactions:

  1. Show Actual Components:

    • Keep the option to display components turned off if you want customers to see each item separately.
    • When selecting a kit from the items dropdown, input the price and press "Add." This action will list the component items on the screen.
  2. Show Kit/Virtual Item:

    • Enable the Setup -> Preferences -> Show Sales Kit/virtual Code option to display the kit as a single unit. The transaction screen and invoice PDF will reflect this consolidated view.

Purchasing and Selling Kits

While Sales Kits are primarily used in sales, they can also be utilized in purchasing:

  • Purchase Kits: Buy kits and manage inventory as individual components or bundled kits.
  • Sell as Components or Kits: Flexibly sell either the complete kit or its individual components, depending on sales strategy and customer preference.

By integrating Sales Kits into your ERP system, you can enhance your sales strategies and offer attractive product bundles to customers, ultimately driving increased sales and customer satisfaction.
