New Kit and Composite Item
A New Kit form is used to create a "bundled" item that consists of multiple components sold or managed under a single name. This is ideal for gift sets, assembly kits, or promotional bundles where several individual stock items are packaged together as one product unit. To create a new kit, navigate to Items & Services > Click "Kits" Tab > Click "+ Add New Kit" or navigate to Items & Services > Click "New" > Select "Kit". Saving this form creates a master item profile that tracks the relationship between the bundle and its parts.
Alias/kit code
Enter a unique identification code for the kit (e.g., "GIFT-001"). This acts as the primary SKU for the bundle, allowing you to select the entire set in sales or purchase orders with a single entry.
Barcode
Enter or scan the barcode for the complete kit. If the bundled set has its own unique packaging barcode, scan it here. This allows for rapid checkout of the entire bundle without having to scan every individual component inside.
Description
Provide a clear name or descriptive title for the kit (e.g., "Standard Office Stationery Kit" or "New Employee Welcome Bundle"). This description will appear on invoices and reports when the kit is sold or transferred.
Category
Select the inventory category that this kit belongs to (e.g., "Other Supply Materials"). Assigning a category helps in organizing your product catalog and generating structured sales performance reports. Use the + icon to create a new category if needed.
Component
Select the individual stock items that make up the kit from the dropdown menu. You can add multiple items to represent every part included in the bundle. For example, a "Computer Set" kit would have "Monitor," "Keyboard," and "Mouse" as components.
Quantity
Specify the amount of each component required to make one single kit. If a "Toolbox Kit" requires 10 specific bolts, you would enter "10" here. You can also select the unit of measurement (e.g., Cubic Meter, Pcs, Kgs) appropriate for each component.
Action Button
- + Add New: Click this button to finalize the creation of the kit profile. Once saved, the kit becomes available for use across the ERP system, and the system will automatically manage the stock levels of the underlying components whenever the kit is processed.
Inventory Impact
When a kit is sold or used, the system typically performs a "backflush" or automatic deduction. This means that instead of reducing the stock of the "Kit Name," the system reduces the Quantity On Hand (QOH) of each individual Component based on the quantities defined in this form. This ensures your component-level inventory remains accurate.
