Inventory and Services Listing Page

The Inventory List and Inquiry screen in TamilAccounting allows users to view, search, and manage all items and services available in the system. This feature is crucial for maintaining an up-to-date view of the stock levels, item categories, and pricing information.

Key Features of the Inventory List:

  1. Search and Filters:

    • Item Type: Filter items based on whether they are goods or services.
    • Tax Type: Narrow down items by their assigned tax type, such as GST 18%.
    • Location: Select the location to view the inventory specific to a warehouse or branch.
    • Category: Filter items by their categories (e.g., Components, Services).
    • Inactive Items: Option to show inactive items by checking the "Show Inactive" box.
    • Search Bar: Search for items by name, stock ID, or other relevant attributes.
  2. Columns Overview:

    • Stock ID: The unique identifier for each item, which can be generated based on a custom sequence or barcode.
    • Name: The name of the item or service.
    • Category: The category under which the item is grouped.
    • Tax Type: The tax type assigned to the item, which is crucial for accurate tax calculation during transactions.
    • Unit: The unit of measure for the item (e.g., Each, Hour, Kilogram).
    • Std Cost: The standard cost of the item, which reflects the material cost calculated based on the average costing method.
    • Retail: The retail price for the item, which is the default sales price set from the Setup -> Company Setup. If the default sales type is not set, this column will not appear. The prices displayed here are based on the default company currency.
    • On Hand: The current physical stock available in the ERP system.
    • Demand: The quantity of the item currently demanded through undelivered sales orders.
    • Available: The quantity available for further sales or production, calculated as the "On Hand" quantity minus the "Demand".
    • On Order: The quantity that has been ordered from suppliers but not yet received.
  3. Actions:

    • Edit: The pencil icon allows users to edit the details of an inventory item.
    • Delete: The red cross icon lets users delete an item from the inventory list.

Additional Information:

  • Retail Column: This column shows the default sales price (Retail) for items. The visibility of this column depends on whether a default sales type is set in the Setup -> Company Setup. If not set, this column will be hidden. The retail prices shown are in the default company currency.

  • Inventory Management:

    • The list allows for comprehensive management of items, providing a clear view of stock levels and enabling users to take necessary actions such as editing or deleting items.
    • This view supports the overall inventory control, ensuring that items are adequately stocked, categorized, and priced.
