Sales Types
Sales Types allow you to define the different types of sales such as Tax included, Tax Excluded, And also price ratio to reduce or increase the prices based on this sales type. But for default, the Sale rate Ratio is 1 and it can increased for retail and reduced for Wholesale. Sales types helps you to make different pricing types for an item. We have e-commerce as well, which actually a different pricing, from your ordinary selling point. There is a way to configure the e-commerce sales types and other ordinary sales types. To create a Sales Types, go to Setup > Sales > Sales Types > Add New
Sales Type
By default the system will provide you Retail and Wholesale pricing, which is where the transactions happening exactly. You can create further more types based on your needs, the existing type is common and basic settings types. While inputting price for items, you need to choose these type. and also while creating customer, the sales type assigned to a customer. Based on this types. we are taking the customers and items price in the list.
e-Commerce
For ecommerce selling, we might needs to cover up separate sales type for the pricing. Which actually good to provide the discounted price. Now a days no website show their product without discounted price. So the separate pricing applies from shop product and online selling products.
Base Sales Type
Each customer will be assigned with a sales type. The Base Sales Type can be set from Setup -> Company Setup -> Base Sales Type. And also by editing any sales type from Sales -> Settings -> Sales Type -> Default/Base Sales Type. This base sales type also works for the default price and price conversation from one type to another. The base type also helps to set default Customer's sales type to bill them from their preference.
