Sales Overview

Sales Overview

The Sales Overview is the landing tab of the Sales module. It answers the questions a business owner asks first — what did we bill this month, who owes us, what is overdue, and what is still to be delivered — without running a single report.

Where to find it

Go to Sales. Overview is the first tab, so it is what you see when the module opens.

Summary cards

Six cards across the top give the health of your sales operation at a glance.

CardWhat it shows
Revenue (Month)The value billed so far this month, in your company currency.
ReceivablesThe total outstanding across all unpaid invoices — the money owed to you right now.
OverdueThe value past its due date, with a badge showing how many invoices are involved. When nothing is late it reads All invoices on time.
Open OrdersThe value of orders taken but not yet delivered — work you have committed to but not fulfilled.
Payments (Month)The value collected this month, with a count of receipts.
CustomersThe number of active customer accounts.
Read Receivables and Overdue together. A large receivables figure is normal in a growing business; a large overdue figure is a collection problem, and it is the same debt that triggers a credit block.

Monthly Revenue

A six-month trend of what you have billed, so you can see direction rather than a single month in isolation — whether sales are growing, flat or slipping.

Top Customers

ColumnDescription
CustomerThe customer name.
BilledThe total value invoiced to them.
BalanceHow much of that is still outstanding.

View All takes you to the full Invoices list.

A top customer with a balance close to their billed total is a concentration risk — a lot of revenue tied up in one account that has not paid yet.

Recent Invoices

ColumnDescription
#The invoice reference.
CustomerWho was billed.
DateThe invoice date.
DueWhen payment falls due.
AmountThe invoice total.
StatusIts current state — Unpaid, Partially Paid, Paid, OverDue and so on.

View All opens the full Invoices list, where you can filter by status, customer, salesman and date.

Using the Overview day to day

  1. Check Overdue first. If the count is above zero, open Invoices, filter on OverDue and work the list.
  2. Check Open Orders against your dispatch capacity — that value is stock the customer is waiting for.
  3. Compare Payments (Month) with Revenue (Month). Collections lagging billing month after month is a cash flow warning.
  4. Scan Recent Invoices for anything unexpected — a wrong customer or an unusual amount is easiest to fix the day it is raised.
Figures here are live. They move as invoices, deliveries and payments are entered, so two people looking at the Overview minutes apart may see different numbers.
