Amendments
Amendments handle every change to a live membership — adding or removing a dependent, changing cover, updating details, or terminating. Each is logged, approved and then applied, so a policy is never quietly edited underneath the member.
Where to find it
Go to BurialPro > Amendments. Log one from New > Amendment.
What an amendment can do
| Kind | What changes |
|---|---|
| Dependent to Add | Brings a new person onto cover. The dependent type is required. |
| Dependent to Remove | Takes someone off cover. |
| Cover change | Upgrades or downgrades the cover product. The new product must be chosen. |
| Detail update | Changes personal or contact details. At least one detail must be entered. |
| Termination | Ends the membership. |
The workflow
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Log Amendment | The change is recorded with its effective date. |
| Draft → Approved | The change is authorised. |
| Apply Amendment | The change takes effect on the policy. |
Only an Approved amendment can be applied — the screen refuses otherwise.
The Effect of this change panel shows what the amendment will do before you apply it, including any premium re-statement. Read it — a cover downgrade that re-states arrears is a conversation to have with the member first, not after.
Rejecting an amendment
An amendment can be rejected or sent back as Change Requested. The record stays, so what was asked for and why it was refused are both retrievable.
