Document Types

Document Types

Document Types define what paperwork a loan requires — identity, income proof, collateral papers, signed agreement. Marking a type mandatory means a loan cannot proceed without it, which is what stops incomplete files reaching disbursement.

Where to find it

Go to Customer Loan > Settings > Document Types.

Field reference

FieldDescription
NameThe document required.
DescriptionWhat it is and what an acceptable version looks like.
MandatoryWhether a loan can proceed without it. Missing mandatory documents are reported on the loan.
Mark as mandatory only what you would genuinely refuse to lend without. A long mandatory list gets worked around under pressure, and once staff learn to bypass the check it protects nothing at all.

Where documents are held

Documents attach to a loan through Manage Documents on Loans. The loan reports Missing mandatory documents until every required type is present.
