Google Business Posts
Posts are what appears on your Google listing below the business details — an update, an event or an offer. They can go to one location or to all of them at once, be published immediately or scheduled for a date, and be saved as a draft until they are ready.
The kinds of post
| Kind | Carries |
|---|---|
| Update | A description, a picture and a button. |
| Event | An event title with a start and an end. |
| Offer | An offer title, a coupon code, a redeem link and dates. |
The fields
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Description | The text of the post. |
| Image link | The picture, where there is one. |
| Button / Button link | What the post asks people to do. |
| Location | One listing, or every listing. |
| Publish now / Publish on | Immediately, or on a date. |
Drafts and scheduling
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Save draft | Kept, not sent. Delete this draft discards it. |
| Schedule | Goes out on the date given. The list shows how many are scheduled. |
| Publish now | Sent to Google immediately. |
Posting to every location
One post can go to all listings at once. That is the point of managing them together — a promotion that runs across six outlets is written once rather than six times, with six chances to get the wording different.
Posts are short-lived by design. They suit a notice that matters this week — holiday hours, an event, a limited offer. Anything permanent belongs in the listing details, where it stays.
What the list shows
Posts live, scheduled, drafts and any that failed. A failure means Google refused the post; the reason is on the record.
