New Dependent

New Dependent

New Dependent adds a person to a member's cover. A member has to be selected first, since a dependent only exists in relation to the policy that covers them.

Where to find it

Go to BurialPro > New > Dependent.

What to enter

FieldRequiredDescription
MemberYesWhose cover this extends. Pick the member before anything else.
First Name / Last NameYesThe dependent.
Dependent TypeYesChild, parent, extended or additional. Required.
RelationshipNoHow they relate to the member.
DOBNoDrives the age-out rule for children.
GenderNoPersonal detail.
ID / Birth CertNoTheir identification.
BenefitNoThe cover amount on their death.
ContributionNoWhat their cover adds to the premium.
Cover limits are enforced at this point. If the form refuses, the policy has already reached its maximum children, parents or extended dependants — which is a cover upgrade conversation rather than a data entry problem.

What happens next

The dependent appears on the member's policy. Later changes go through an amendment so they are approved rather than edited directly.
