New Project
Overview:
The New Project Form in TamilAccounting ERP is designed to help users create and manage projects effectively. This form captures all necessary details related to a project, including customer information, project codes, financial details, and task assignments. By completing this form, users can ensure that all project-related data is accurately recorded and accessible for future reference.
Form Fields:
Customer:
- Field: Select a Customer
- Description: Choose the customer associated with the project. This is a mandatory field. If the customer is not listed, you can add a new customer by clicking the "+" icon.
HSN/SAC Code:
- Field: Select HSN/SAC Code
- Description: Choose the appropriate HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) or SAC (Services Accounting Code) for the project. This is particularly relevant for Indian users, as it ensures that the correct tax codes are applied to the project.
Project Code:
- Field: Project Code
- Description: Enter a unique code for the project. This code helps in identifying and managing the project within the system.
Project Name:
- Field: Project Name
- Description: Provide a descriptive name for the project. This name will be used throughout the ERP system to refer to the project.
Description:
- Field: Description
- Description: Enter a detailed description of the project. This field supports rich text formatting, allowing you to include detailed notes, bullet points, and other formatting to describe the project scope and objectives.
Billing Type:

- Description: Select the billing type for the project. Options may include "Never Billed," "Hourly," "Fixed Price," etc., depending on how the project is to be billed.
Project Tax Type:

- Description: Select the tax type applicable to the project, such as GST 5%. This ensures that the correct tax rate is applied to transactions related to the project.
Project Type:

- Description: Select the type of project, such as "Purchased" or "In-House." This helps categorize the project for reporting and management purposes.
Units of Measure:

- Description: Choose the unit of measure for the project, such as "Each," "Hours," "Days," etc. This helps in tracking the project's progress and billing.
Start Date:

- Description: Enter the date when the project is scheduled to start. This helps in tracking the project timeline.
Deadline:

- Description: Enter the deadline for the project. This is the date by which the project is expected to be completed.
Progress:

- Description: Enter the current progress of the project as a percentage. This field helps in tracking how much of the project has been completed.
GL Accounts:
- Sales Account:

- Description: Select the General Ledger (GL) account used for recording sales related to the project.
- Inventory Account:
- Field: Inventory Account
- Description: Choose the GL account associated with the inventory used in the project.
- C.O.G.S. Account:
- Field: C.O.G.S. (Cost of Goods Sold) Account
- Description: Select the GL account for recording the cost of goods sold related to the project.
- Inventory Adjustments Account:
- Field: Inventory Adjustments Account
- Description: Choose the GL account used for inventory adjustments, such as purchase price variances.

- Description: Toggle this option to automatically send an email to the customer when the project is created or updated.

- Monitor Project Progress: Regularly update the progress field to track how much of the project has been completed, ensuring that deadlines are met.
