Google Business Performance
Performance is what Google reports about your listings: how many people saw them, how many called, how many clicked through to the website and how many asked for directions. It answers whether the listing is working, which is a different question from whether the details on it are correct.
The measures
| Measure | Means |
|---|---|
| Views | How many people saw the listing, in search and on maps. |
| Calls | Calls made from the listing. |
| Clicks | People going through to your website. |
| Direction requests | People asking how to get to you. |
Every measure Google reports is available, either as a total or broken down by location.
Periods
| Period | Use for |
|---|---|
| Last 7 days | Whether something you just did had an effect. |
| Last 30 days | The normal view. |
| Last 90 days | Trend rather than noise. |
Getting the figures
Fetch figures from Google reads the data and reports how many points it pulled. Read the last 90 days for every location refreshes the lot. Until anything has been read the screen says No performance data yet rather than showing zeros that would read as a bad month.
Reading it
| Pattern | Usually means |
|---|---|
| Views high, calls and directions low | People find you and decide against. Look at the listing as a customer sees it. |
| Views low | A category or verification problem more often than a content one. |
| Direction requests high | People are coming. Worth knowing before changing opening hours. |
| One location far behind the others | Check its verification and its category first. |
These figures are Google's, not the ERP's, and they lag. A quiet last-seven-days is often a reporting delay rather than a quiet week — which is why the thirty-day view is the one to judge anything by.
