New Bereavement Claim
New Claim logs a death and starts the payout process. It records who died, when, and who is being paid — the three facts everything downstream depends on.
Where to find it
Go to BurialPro > New > Bereavement Claim.
What to enter
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Yes | Whose policy is being claimed on. |
| Deceased Name | Yes | The member or the dependent who died. |
| Date of Death | Yes | Required. It starts the claim window. |
| Claimant | Yes | Who receives the payout. A name is required. |
| Claimant ID / Claimant Phone | No | Identification and contact. |
| Beneficiary Account | No | Where the money is paid. |
| Notes | No | Anything relevant to assessment. |
Log the claim as soon as the family reports the death, even if the paperwork is incomplete. The claim window runs from the date of death, and a claim logged late for administrative reasons is indistinguishable from one reported late.
What happens next
The claim enters the assessment workflow — an officer is assigned, operations and finance assess it, QA reviews it, and it is approved before payment. See Claims.
