New Bereavement Claim

New Bereavement Claim

New Claim logs a death and starts the payout process. It records who died, when, and who is being paid — the three facts everything downstream depends on.

Where to find it

Go to BurialPro > New > Bereavement Claim.

What to enter

FieldRequiredDescription
MemberYesWhose policy is being claimed on.
Deceased NameYesThe member or the dependent who died.
Date of DeathYesRequired. It starts the claim window.
ClaimantYesWho receives the payout. A name is required.
Claimant ID / Claimant PhoneNoIdentification and contact.
Beneficiary AccountNoWhere the money is paid.

Log the claim as soon as the family reports the death, even if the paperwork is incomplete. The claim window runs from the date of death, and a claim logged late for administrative reasons is indistinguishable from one reported late.

What happens next

The claim enters the assessment workflow — an officer is assigned, operations and finance assess it, QA reviews it, and it is approved before payment. See Claims.
