Banking Overview

Banking Overview

The Banking Overview is the landing tab of the Banking module. It answers what a business asks first about cash — how much is on hand, what came in, what went out, and whether anything is left unreconciled.

Where to find it

Go to Banking. Overview is the first tab.

Summary cards

CardWhat it shows
Cash on HandThe combined balance across your active bank and cash accounts.
Inflow (Month)Deposits and receipts this month.
Outflow (Month)Payments made this month.
Net Cash FlowInflow less outflow for the month — whether the business generated cash or consumed it.
ReconciledHow much has been matched to statements. When nothing is outstanding it reads All reconciled.
Bank AccountsHow many active accounts you hold.
Read Cash on Hand and Reconciled together. A healthy cash figure means little if a large share of it is unreconciled — that is a balance nobody has yet confirmed against a bank statement.

Cash Flow

A trend of inflow against outflow over time, selectable across the last month, six months or year. It shows direction rather than a single month in isolation, which is what makes it useful for spotting a slide before it becomes a problem.

Using the Overview day to day

  1. Check Cash on Hand against what you expect to pay out this week.
  2. Check the reconciled position. A growing unreconciled balance means statements are not being matched.
  3. Look at Net Cash Flow over six months rather than one — a single month is noise.
  4. Scan Recent Bank Transactions for anything unexpected.
