Attendance Settings
Attendance Settings define the rules per department. Different departments work differently — a marketing team keeps different hours from a production line — so attendance behaviour is configured department by department rather than company-wide.
Where to find it
Go to HRM > Settings > Attendance Settings. The list shows the settings held against each department.
There is no add new here. A row appears automatically when a department is created, so this screen is for configuring what already exists rather than creating entries.
What is configured
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Department | Which department the rules apply to. |
| Shift | The default working pattern. |
| Grace period | How much lateness is tolerated before it counts. |
| Half day threshold | Hours below which a day counts as half. |
| Overtime | Whether overtime applies to this department. |
Why per department
Attendance rules feed loss of pay, which feeds payroll. Applying one rule across a company with genuinely different working patterns produces pay that is wrong for at least one group — which is why the settings sit at department level.
