Job

Job

Job schedules a collection — which customer, which vehicle, which driver, where and when. It is the unit of work the whole module revolves around: logs, waste records and invoices all attach to a job.

Field reference

FieldDescription
TitleWhat the job is, in a line.
DescriptionFuller detail for the crew.
CustomerWho is being served, and who will be invoiced.
VehicleThe vehicle assigned. Its capacity limits what can be collected.
DriverWho is running it.
LocationWhere the collection happens.
Scheduled Date / Scheduled TimeWhen it is booked for.

Number of LoadsHow many trips the job needs.
Job TypeThe category, from Job Types.
PriorityHow urgent it is.
StatusWhere the job stands.
NotesAnything the crew needs to know.
Match the vehicle to the number of loads, not just to the customer. A job booked for three loads on a vehicle that can only do two in a shift turns into an overrun that pushes every later job back.

Billing a job

Completed jobs become customer invoices. A job with invoices already raised against it is preserved rather than removed, so the billing trail stays intact even when the operational record is tidied.
