Virtual Items View
Virtual Item Overview
The Overview tab for a Virtual Item provides a snapshot of its basic identity and how it is linked within the system. Unlike a standard physical item, this view focuses on the descriptive details used for sales and documentation while the actual stock remains tied to the parent product.
Preview Section
This section allows for visual identification of the virtual item:
- Item Image: The user can click Choose File to upload a specific photo for this virtual alias. This is helpful if the virtual item represents a specific packaging or branding different from the parent item.
- Edit Button: Click the orange Edit button at the top right to modify any of the general details.
General Details
These fields display the core information for the virtual item:
- Item Code: The unique virtual identification code (e.g., VR002) used to search for this item in sales or purchase screens.
- Name: The specific display name for this alias (e.g., "TEST"). This is the name that will appear on invoices and customer reports.
- Category: The group this virtual item belongs to (e.g., "Services" or "Components"). Even if the parent is a physical item, the virtual link can be categorized separately for better organization.
- Unit: The unit of measure assigned to this virtual alias (e.g., "each").
Sales and Purchase Prices
The Virtual Item also contains dedicated Sales Prices and Purchase Prices tabs. This allows the user to set a specific price for the virtual alias that is different from the parent item’s price, offering full flexibility for special customer deals or branded pricing.
