Virtual Items View
The Virtual Items View shows an alias and how it links back to its parent. Because the alias holds no stock of its own, this view focuses on identity and pricing while the quantity stays with the physical item behind it.
Where to find it
Open any virtual code from the Virtual Item List.
Virtual Item Overview
A snapshot of the alias — its code, description and the parent item it draws stock from. Everything descriptive belongs to the alias; everything physical belongs to the parent.
Preview Section
How the alias appears on documents, so you can confirm the customer will see the code and description they expect before it reaches an invoice.
General Details
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Virtual Code | The alias code shown on documents. |
| Description | The alias name. |
| Parent Item | The physical item stock is deducted from. |
| Barcode | The alias barcode, where one is set. |
| Unit conversion | The ratio applied where the alias sells in a different unit. |
Sales and Purchase Prices
Prices held against the alias, following the same location, currency, sales type and unit structure as an ordinary item. This is what lets the same physical product carry a different price under a different identity.
To check availability, look at the parent item. The alias will never show a stock figure of its own, because it does not have one.
