SMS Templates
SMS Templates define the messages members receive — a contribution receipt, an arrears reminder, a claim update. Each event has its own template with placeholders that fill in from the record, so a message is personal without anyone writing it.
Where to find it
Go to BurialPro > Settings > SMS Templates.
Field reference
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Event | What triggers the message — a contribution receipted, arrears due, a claim logged or paid. |
| Message | The text sent, with placeholders. |
| Enabled | Whether this event sends at all. |
Placeholders
Each event offers its own placeholders, listed on screen under Available placeholders per event — a claim template, for instance, can use {claim_no} and {amount}. Using a placeholder the event does not provide leaves it unfilled in the message that goes out.
Read the message as a member would, on a phone, out of context. "Your claim has been approved" arriving with no society name is alarming rather than reassuring — put who you are in every template.
Keep them short
A long message costs more and is more likely to be truncated. Say the one thing the member needs to know and how to reach you.
