Customers
Customers holds the master data the whole sales cycle depends on. Every quotation, order, delivery and invoice references a customer and one of its branches, and the credit, tax and pricing settings kept here decide how each of those documents behaves.
The three levels
| Record | What it is | Carries |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | The legal entity you bill. | Credit limit, credit status, payment terms, price level, currency. |
| Branch | A delivery location under that customer. | Delivery address, tax group, supplying warehouse. |
| Contact | A person you deal with. | Role, contact details, which documents they receive. |
The tax group sits on the branch, not the customer. That is deliberate — a customer with sites in two states needs a branch each, because the tax treatment is decided by where the goods go.
Where to look
- Customers · Branches · Contacts — the three master lists
- Customer View — one account with all its tabs
- Transactions — a customer's full financial history
Tracking the relationship
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Follow-ups you have committed to. |
| Activity | An automatic log of what has already happened. |
| Files | Contracts, KYC and certificates. |
The pre-sales pipeline
Opportunities → Estimations → Proposals → Quotation, with Projects tracking longer engagements once won.
Where to go next
- Sales — what customers are billed
- Customer Credit Status — controlling who may buy
- Customers Import — creating records in bulk
- Suppliers — the buying-side equivalent
